Palm Sunday Homily 2018

Posted by on Mar 26, 2018 at 4:54 pm
In the person of St. Dismas, we see how the “Yes” of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary can still strengthen our own “yes” to the Father, so that what we say of St. Dismas may be said of us. “Every saint has a past and every sinner a future.”

Readings taken from Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion, 2018.

Share our Lady’s Sorrows, Share her Son’s Glory

Posted by on Aug 16, 2017 at 8:47 pm

Many people wonder what we should do in the face of racism, violence, and evil. Have we forgotten what our Lady did? On this feast of the Assumption, let us join her. She imitates Jesus who suffered. Jesus gives her a share in His glory. He will give us a share, too, if we join her in penance and prayer.

Homily from the Solemn Mass of the Assumption, August 15, 2017. Recorded at St. Paul’s parish, 7pm Mass.

Strength for the Test

Posted by on Aug 13, 2017 at 10:07 pm

Jesus allows to be tested out of His love for us. By being tested we know two things: 1) what it is like to be with Him, who was tested and every way and 2) where we are in our life of faith.

Readings for this homily taken from the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Homily given at 10:30am Mass at Pius XII Newman Center.
